Darius was the son of Hystapes and descended from the ancient royal line of Persia. It was under the rule of King Darius of Persia the rebuilding of the Jerusalem Temple, also known as the Second Temple.
The rebuilding began in 520 BC and was completed in 516 BC.
Darius also known as Darius the Great and Darius 1, ruled Persia from 521 – 486 BC.
Darius showed himself to be a true friend of Israel and the Jews in Jerusalem prospered under his time as King.
